WHAT IS BOTOX?
Botox is the trade name of an injection (botulinum toxin)which inhibits the muscles around the injected area, therefore temporarily reducing wrinkles and lines. It is the most common type of cosmetic procedure. Botox and fillers are different in that fillers aim to create a mass under the skin to achieve results whilst Botoxinhibits the muscles.
HOW IS BOTOX ADMINISTERED?
Botox injections are relatively an easy and quick procedure taking around 15 minutes. Local anaesthetic ins’t usually needed, the immediate area is cleaned and Botox is injected. The injections can be slightly discomforting but most people can tolerate it well.
RECOVERY AND AFTERCARE
There is virtually no recovery time, you can return to normal activities straight away.There is no major aftercare however you will be advised not to rub or massage the area for a few days.
